PCSIR pensioners unpaid for two months

LAHORE: The government employees who retired from the Pakistan Council of Science and Industrial Research have not been receiving pension for the last two months.
Dr Shahid, who retired in BPS-20 from the PCSIR three years ago, visited Dawn offices on Monday to narrate the ordeal he and other pensioners had been going through for the two months. He claimed that when contacted the authorities told them that the federal finance ministry had not released funds for paying them pension.
He lamented the treatment being meted out to those who had contributed to the industrial development of the county and feared that such steps would further weaken the research work as the talent would go abroad in search of greener pastures at the cost of national interest.
