Committees set up for doctors’ hiring

LAHORE: Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq says district selection committees (DSCs) have been constituted for the recruitment of medical officers and woman medical officers at government health facilities.

At a meeting of the cabinet committee of health at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday, Mr Rafiq said the district coordination officer (DCO) would be chairman of the DSC while the executive district officer of health, the medical superintendent of the hospital and a retired health professional would be its members.

He said that for the purpose of selection of consultants, the professor of the area concerned or head of the department would also be included in the committee.




Also, the District Coordination Officer would also nominate a woman officer as member of the committee.

He said committees had been made for the recruitment of doctors in DHQ hospitals attached with teaching institutions.

The meeting was attended by nominated retired health professionals from the districts and different medical colleges.
