Ex-revenue officer held

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has arrested a former district officer revenue, Mensehra, for allegedly making illegal assets worth millions of rupees. 

A NAB statement issued here on Tuesday said that the suspect, Latif-ur-Rehman, who is currently posted as programme manager of district reconstruction unit of PERRA, at Besham, held various public offices in the revenue department in Mansehra and Hairpur, and accumulated huge assets which in no way were compatible to his status as he belonged to a mediocre family.

After the matter was brought into the notice of NAB, it began an inquiry to ascertain the facts and collected requisite evidence regarding moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the suspect in his own name and in the name of his dependents. During the course of inquiry it was revealed that Latif-ur-Rehman accumulated illegally a bungalow in Habibullah Colony, Abbottabad, one kanal plot in Regi Model Town, Peshawar, and a two Kanal commercial plot in Azakhel Nowshera.
