Goods train bogies derail

TOBA TEK SINGH: Three bogies of a goods train were derailed between Gojra and Pacca Anna railway stations near abandoned Kot Saleem Shaheed railway station on Friday.

As the rail track was broken, it took five and a half hours to restore the trains traffic. The train was on way to Karachi from Lahore.

A maintenance team of railways arrived on the accident site from Faisalabad and restored the track. In the meantime, Pakistan Express coming from Karachi to Lahore was stopped at Toba, Akbar Bugti Express (Quetta-Lahore) was stopped at Janiwala and Karakoram Express (Karachi-Lahore) was stopped at Gojra.

Millat Express (making for Malikwal via Toba-Faisalabad and Sargodha) was rerouted from Khanewal to Sahiwal-Lahore track and it returned from Lahore to Faisalabad and then reached Malikwal.




Officials said a team would probe the cause of derailment.
