Karak alliance vows to stop misuse of royalty fundArchive
KARAK: The six-party alliance has constituted a committee headed by Jamaat-i-Islami district president Maulana Tasleem Iqbal for making seat-to-seat adjustment among the likeminded groups and parties for the upcoming local government elections.
The committee, including JI, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Sami, ANP-Wali, Qaumi Watan Party, PML-N and local right organisation Chountra Ittehad, was formed in a meeting held here the other day. Maulana Iqbal was nominated as head of the committee and former union council Nazim Mir Shali Khan its coordinator.
It was decided during the meeting that the election campaign for all candidates of the alliance would be carried out jointly by the leaders of all parties. Besides, the
selection of candidates for the district and tehsil nazims’ elections would also be made through mutual consultations.
Former MNA Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz said that the alliance had been formed to stop the misuse of royalty funds, investigate the theft case of the crude oil and resolve the basic problems of people of Karak district.
ANP-Wali provincial president Fareed Toofan expressed dissatisfaction over the committee formed for the investigation of the crude oil theft and demanded that the National Accountability Bureau and Ehtesab Commission should investigate the oil theft case.
He demanded arrest of the main characters in oil theft case. He regretted that people of the district were deprived of basic facilities despite availability of huge royalty funds. He said that the tickets would be divided on merit among the alliance partners.
He claimed that that their alliance would sweep the local government elections as all its leaders were committed to the cause.
