OKARA: The Lahore High Court has ordered registration of a case against the TMA administrator and 50 sanitary workers who had dumped garbage in front of PPP district president Ashraf Khan Sohna’s filling station on M.A. Jinnah Road about three weeks ago.
The petition was filed through Advocate Rana Shakeel Ahmad Sulehriya against TMA Administrator Sheikh Farid Ahmad and 50 unidentified sanitary workers.
There was a tussle going on between the PPP district head and the TMA administrator and both exchanged harsh words over an ‘anti-encroachment drive’.
Mr Sohna alleged that the sanitary staff, on the direction of their administrator, threw garbage in front of his filling station and on the road leading to his house.
Earlier, the city A-Division police had not registered a case even on the orders of Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Azhar Ali Jafri on April 22.
The petitioner moved the LHC and Justice Shahid Hameed Dar directed the respondent, SHO Malik Tariq Awan, to ensure compliance of the order and submit report through Assistant Advocate-General Punjab, Lahore, Razaul Karim Butt.
IMPOSTORS: The B-Division police have registered a case against two ‘impostors’ who claimed themselves to be senior government functionaries.
Police raided Palace Chowk and nabbed Asghar and Irshad who came there to get Rs200,000 from a resident of Sahiwal’s Harappa area on the promise of getting him employed as junior clerk.
Police recovered visiting cards having photos of the Sharifs from them.
ARREST: The B-Division police also arrested two persons for preparing fake Vanaspati ghee and cooking oil at Sher-i-Rabbani Town.
The team recovered ghee and oil packets (with stamps of known brands) from Sajid and Anjum Khalil and registered a case against them.
