Woman shot dead

LAHORE: A 32-year-old woman, seeking divorce, was shot dead allegedly by her husband in Faisal Town here on Thursday.

Garden Town ASP Shazia said the incident occurred when Tayyaba reached her house to seek custody of her two minor children from her husband, Idrees, after filing a divorce suit in a local court.

She said Idrees injured Tayyaba with a gunshot fire after exchanging harsh words with her and fled. She was taken to Jinnah Hospital where she died.

Police shifted the body to a morgue for an autopsy and were awaiting the heirs to register a case.
