Hashmi, others hail Rajwana’s posting

MULTAN: Local PML-N workers welcomed the appointment of Malik Rafique Rajwana as the Punjab governor.
A large number of party workers gathered at Chowk Kutchery where they danced to drum beat and distributed sweets.
Another group led by Imran Liaqat gathered at Masoom Shah Road where it distributed sweets among the people. PML-N workers also held a rally in Basti Malook.
Welcoming the move, veteran politician Javed Hashmi said Mr Rajwana was ‘Mr Clean’ as there was no allegation against him.
“He always worked to promote the ideology of PML-N and I congratulate him on becoming the governor,” he said.
He said people of Multan and entire southern Punjab had a lot expectations from Mr Rajwana.
Former Lahore High Court judge Justice Jahangir Arshad also hailed the appointment.
Academic Staff Association of Bahauddin Zakariya University met under its president Imran Sharif to welcome the appointment.
The meeting said that appointment of Mr Rajwana as governor would help solve issues of southern Punjab and the BZU.
“The ASA has expectations that the new governor will play his role in resolving the issues of the university,” said ASA General Secretary Dr Abdul Sattar Malik.
He said that a delegation of ASA would meet the governor during his visit to his hometown.
