KARACHI: Zone-II will clash with Zone-V in the final of the K-Electric Under-19 Colour-kit Cricket Tournament after scoring contrasting semi-final victories here on Monday.
Zone-II survived close call before defeating Zone-VI by only three runs at the TMC Ground.
Batting first, Zone-II were all out for 169 in 30 overs with Aashir Ahmed scoring 54 off 59 balls with four boundaries. Rohaib Ahmed claimed five wickets for 30 runs.
Zone-VI, in reply, finished at 166 all out in 30 overs. Faizan Khan struck two fours and one six in making 39.
In the second semi-final at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground, an unbroken partnership of 133 between Salman Khan and Arsalan Bashir steered Zone-V to a crushing nine-wicket victory over Zone-I.
Chasing 142, Zone-V raced to 143-1 in just 19.3 overs. Salman hit 63 from 61 deliveries with the aid of seven fours and a brace of sixes, while Arsalan hammered 56 that included eight boundaries and one six.
Earlier, Zone-I were restricted to 141-8 in the allotted 30 overs.
Zone-II beat Zone-VI by three runs at TMC Ground.

Zone-V beat Zone-I by nine wickets at Landhi Gymkhana Ground.
