Okara seeks new police station

OKARA: A senior Board of Revenue member has put up a proposal to the chief minister seeking the establishment of a police station in Deepalpur, District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Rana told a press briefing on Saturday.

He said Deepalpur sub-division needed a new police station as it was a troubled area. The proposed police station will cover 55 villages in 18 kilometres.

Police Development Office inspector Malik Tassawar Husain said the proposed 55 villages were now part of Sadar Deepalpur, Hujra Shah Muqeem, Basirpur and Haveli Lakkha police stations.




He said the new police station would be named Chorista Mian Khan police station. The estimated cost of the police station is Rs58.6 million.
