Khyber admin suspends recruitment in LeviesArchive
LANDI KOTAL: The Khyber Agency political administration on Tuesday suspended the recruitment process for Khyber Levies after the Peshawar High Court issued a stay order to this effect.
The administration had selected 150 recruits in December 2014 after they were declared fit in both medical and physical tests conducted at the Shah Kas Levies centre. But the administration had to cancel all the appointments after some candidates approached Fata Secretariat with accusations of favouritism and nepotism in the selection of advertised 150 posts.
There were also allegations by some candidates that the concerned officials had accommodated relatives of some influential families without even appearing for the medical and physical tests.
The Khyber political administration in the meanwhile invited fresh applications for 187 vacant posts in the Levies force. The decision for new recruitments was immediately challenged in the Peshawar High Court by three successful candidates from the previous selection process.
