Attack on Afghan parliament condemnedArchive
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday condemned the attack on Afghan parliament and vowed to cooperate with Afghanistan in its fight against terrorism.
“We reaffirm our resolve to fight terrorism in close coordination with the government of Afghanistan. We stand with our Afghan brothers in our common struggle against terrorism,” a Foreign Office statement on the attack claimed by the Taliban said.
The statement lauded Afghan security forces for successfully countering the “act of terrorism”.
Meanwhile, in a statement on the attack, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said terrorism was a common enemy of both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He said the two countries were working together to defeat the designs of terrorists.
He sympathised with those injured in the attack.
