Man dies after landlord unleashes dogs on him

MUZAFFARGARH: A farmer was killed after a landlord unleashed a pack of dogs on him over ‘water theft’ on Monday at Mauza Fatehpur of Alipur tehsil, some 100-km from here.

Police quoting the family of victim Raheem Bukhsh said landlord Karam Husain alleged that Mr Bukhsh had stolen irrigation water.

Police said the landlord after an argument with the farmer asked his servant to unleash dogs on Raheem.

The dogs mauled him and he succumbed to his wounds on way to hospital.

Police have registered a case against the landlord.

District Police Officer Rai Zameerul Haq told Dawn that he had formed a team to probe the matter.
