He said representatives of 12 government departments working at the air port, including National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), Directorate of Passport and Immigration, would be deputed at the desk.

“Such facilitation desk will also be established at Karachi and other international airports in the next couple of months. These desks will make sure resolution of complaints at airports and they will improve the image of government departments,” he said.

Mr Khokhar said almost 7.5 million Pakistanis were living abroad.

The Wafaqi Mohtasib (federal ombudsman) had decided 152,000 complaints of overseas Pakistanis in the last two years.

He said the foreign office had been recommended to make arrangements for hearing of complaints through video links at the Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat with the Pakistan missions.

He said the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Foreign Office had been recommended to resolve the issue of attestation of documents of overseas Pakistanis in a systemic manner.
