Two brothers among six drown in Indus

SUKKUR: Two brothers were among three persons who drowned in the Indus River near the Zero Point Vaspur area of old Sukkur on Tuesday.

Divers and area residents succeeded in fishing out one body while search was under way for the two others, police said.

The victims were identified as Mohammed Ahmar, 20, his brother, Mohammed Osama, 14, and their cousin, Shahzaib 16, who had gone to the area for a picnic.

Divers said they would continue their search into the night as generators had been made available for lighting arrangements. The body of Mohammed Osama was handed over to his family.

Bodies of three volunteers fished out




HYDERABAD: The bodies of three volunteers, belonging to the Saylani Welfare Trust, who had drowned in the Indus near the Al-Manzar resort at the Kotri barrage in Jamshoro on Sunday, were fished out late on Monday evening and on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Shahzeb, 20, Faizan Sheikh, 22, and Mohammad Hamid, 18. Shahzeb’s body was recovered on Monday evening while those of the other two on Tuesday near Bachao bund situated in Unit-10 of Latifabad. The volunteers had gone to the resort for a picnic and drowned while bathing.
