Girls  outperform  boys in matric exams

LAHORE: Girls outclassed boys by grabbing overall top two positions with the third one being shared by two girls and a boy in the Secondary School Certificate (matriculation) Examination 2015 results announced on Friday.

Shafaq Zahid remained first overall by securing 1,080 marks, followed by Aleena Mohsin getting 1,079 marks, while the third position was shared by Ira Abid, Ayesha Noor and Muhammad Imtanan Fazal with 1,078 marks each.

Shafaq, Aleena and Ira are students of the Divisional Public Girls High School, Model Town, Lahore, and Ayesha of Pak Garrison High School for Girls, Nankana Sahib, while Imtanan is a student of Government Central Model High School, Lower Mall, Lahore.




In the Science group among boys, Imtanan remained first, Muhammad Hunzala Younas Toor second with 1,074 marks and Talha Bin Asad with 1,071 marks third. Toor is a student of the Islamic Public High School for Boys, Green Town, Lahore and Asad of Government Central Model High School, Lower Mall, Lahore.

In the Science group among girls, Shafaq and Aleena were declared first and second, respectively, while Ira and Ayesha shared the third position.

In the Humanities group among boys, Usama Abid was declared first with 1,031 marks, Habibullah Ibrahim second with 1,018 marks and Muhammad Asim third with 991 marks. Usama and Asim appeared as private candidates, while Ibrahim is a student of the Islamia Model High School for Boys, Habib Park, Multan Road, Lahore.

In the Humanities group among girls, Rimsha remained first by securing 1,053 marks, Afshan Shahdin second with 1,052 marks and Amina Farooq third with 1,045 marks. Rimsha and Amina are students of Farooqi Girls High School, Ravi Road, Lahore and Afshan Society Public Girls High School, Mughalpura, Lahore.
