Senator’s son arrested for illegally selling marriage hallArchive
LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore on Sunday arrested the son of PPP Senator Saifullah Bangash for selling a marriage hall illegally.
The NAB said Shaukatullah Bangash was wanted for illegal sale of a marriage hall in Lahore.
“[The hall] is a case property cautioned by the NAB in another case, prohibiting its sale and purchase. However, the accused in connivance with and active abatement of other accused persons violated NAB’s caution and illegally sold out the property for Rs52.5 million for personal gains,” a spokesman told Dawn.
He said the amount was distributed among all the accused persons.
“The NAB has recovered the ill-gotten money from 13 accused persons,” he added.
Shaukatullah will be produced before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand on Monday (today).
The NAB on Saturday had arrested senior PPP leader and former president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Qasim Zia, on charges of committing fraud through his brokerage house and got his 10-day physical remand from the accountability court.
Zia and four other directors of the brokerage house were accused of committing a fraud of Rs80 million with 80 people.
