Bakery sealed,  sweet shop fined

RAWALPINDI: In a joint operation against unhygienic food outlets, City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Monday sealed Bread and Butter Bakers in Saddar and imposed a fine of Rs30,000 on Sajid Sweets.

The joint team led by the assistant commissioner, Cantonment, Khalid Goraya and additional cantonment executive officer Abdul Wahab inspected different food outlets and found kitchens of Bread and Butter Bakers and Sajid Sweets covered in filth . They imposed a fine of Rs30,000 on the sweet shop and sealed the bakery.

“The kitchen of the bakery was in bad condition and was filled with odour of stale food items,” said Mr Goraya.




He said raid on food outlets would continue, adding that teams were directed to check the health of the workers of the food outlets.
