NA body proposes shopping mall on railway landArchive
RAWALPINDI: A subcommittee of the National Assembly Standing Committee for Railways on Monday recommended the construction of a shopping mall on 2.5 kanals of land recovered by authorities near Dhoke Matkyal.
The recommendation was shared in a meeting held at the Divisional Superintendent Office, presided over by MNA Ramesh Lal.
Divisional Superintendent, MD Carriage Factory, SSP Railways were also present at the meeting.
Addressing the participants, Ramesh Lal directed the Divisional Superintendent to expedite the process of recovering the illegally occupied railway lands and remove encroachments.
The committee also reviewed other matters including the issue of 82 kanals of railway land occupied by a Patwari. Ramesh Lal asked the Punjab government to take notice of the illegally occupied land of Pakistan Railways including a graveyard.
It directed the authorities to acquire an NoC from district administration Islamabad for installation of a gate at a railway crossing at Millat Colony Tarnol.
