Nerve centre to help end crime: CCPOArchive
LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains has said a nerve centre being established will play an important role in eliminating crime.
He said this while addressing a meeting at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh here on Saturday regarding a pilot project being started in Model Town division.
He said police were making efforts to change the ‘thana culture’. Administration and beat officials were trying to resolve problems of the masses at police stations, he added.
The CCPO further said through the nerve centre, officers in a room would now supervise enrolment and movement of personnel, response time to calls on the emergency 15 line, search operations, snap checking, crime ratio and arrests of important gangs. Later, the system would be spread to other divisions.
Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf, Model Town Superintendent of Police Mustansar Feroz, administration and beat officers also attended the meeting.
