PPP-JUI-F agreement on LG polls

KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party and the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazal have agreed in principle to form an alliance to contest the coming local government election in Sindh.

This agreement was reached during a meeting held at CM House on Wed­nesday between leaders of the two parties.

The PPP team was led by Dr Qayyum Soomro and Local Gov­ernment Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah while the JUI-F team was led by Rashid Mehmood Soomro and Qari Muhammad Usman.

The meeting decided to set up joint committees at the divisional and district levels to determine their respective priorities for contesting the elections of union committees and union councils.
