Holidays or vacations
Archive
I WANT to draw attention towards the letter “Mistake” (Aug 21).
Vacation and holiday are words with similar meanings. They both describe days when you don’t go to work or school. However, there are differences between them.
Holidays are for everyone; vacations often involve travel. The rules above are for American English.I think British English uses ‘holiday’ in both cases. In Pakistan we mostly follow British English. So it’s okay to use vacation or holidays.
