Students protest humiliation of teacher

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Students of Ghazi University on Wednesday boycotted their classes and staged a rally against the humiliation of a female teacher by two members of the vice-chancellor committee.

The Civil Lines police registered a primary report of the incident on an application lodged by the female teacher.

Head of the agriculture department, Prof Dr Mahpara Shehzadi, was allegedly humiliated during an inquiry being conducted by two members of vice-chancellor committee, Dr Iqbal Changwani and Dr Shafqat.

Inquiry officers snatched the mobile phone from Dr Mahpara Shehzadi who had captured in it her humiliation.




Students chanted slogans against the committee members and demanded an inquiry against them.

Female teachers also supported the protest against both members of the committee.

Prof Changwani and Dr Shafqat said the matter was being investigated by the ethics committee headed by Dr Ghulam Haider.
