Acting VCs named for two varsities

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Wednesday appointed acting vice-chancellors of the Government College University and the Education University.

According to a notification, Dr Muhammad Aslam and Dr Aminuddin have been appointed as acting vice-chancellors of the Government College University, Lahore, and the Education University, Lahore, respectively.

After assuming the charge, Dr Muhammad Aslam chaired a meeting of academic and administrative heads.

The posts of VCs of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), University of Sargodha, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Rawalpindi, Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur, the Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering & Information Technology, Multan and Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan, have been lying vacant for a couple of months.

The VC Search Committee has reportedly shortlisted the names for suitable candidates for the said varsities and forwarded it to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
