Manufacturers urged to adopt modern technology

PESHAWAR: Speakers at a workshop here on Wednesday urged the manufacturers to focus on the capacity building of their employees, especially the managerial staff, to attain sustainable training through modern technology.
The workshop was organised by Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaborations with FF Steel and Rastgar and Company on the compressed air technology.
The workshop was aimed at initiating a process to improve the skills of workers, technical staff and managerial employees of the manufacturing sector so that they could take advantage of the latest technology and create new options for further progress.
Key speaker on the occasion was former CEO of Engineering Development Board (EDB) Imtiaz Rastgar, who discussed various aspects of modern technology in the manufacturing sector and said that new challenges could only be met by using the latest equipment.
Mr Rastgar trained the participants on the managerial aspects of compressed air technology, its need and applications for economy and efficiency in various industrial units.
The technical session was conducted by Mr Husain, who not only delivered a detailed classroom presentation but also provided demonstration-based information to the participants of the workshop.
Majority of the technical personnel belonging to manufacturing sector, especially to the pharmaceutical and food processing units of the province, actively participated in the workshop by discussing various issues.
Earlier, Smeda provincial chief Javed Iqbal Khattak emphasised upon the need of adopting energy efficient technology within the industry, saying that it was need of the present era.
