PESHAWAR: Chairman, department of sociology, University of Peshawar (UoP), Professor Dr Niaz Mohammad has asked teachers to end corporal punishment in schools and guide students with modern teaching techniques.
Addressing a teacher workshop titled “Art of effective teaching” in Abbottabad arranged by the Society for the Protection of Rights of Children (Sparc), Dr Niaz Mohammad said that teachers should be equipped with modern teaching techniques for better guidance of teachers.
He said that outdated education system could not ensure a peaceful society.
Sparc regional manager Jehanzeb Khan said that his organisation has provided clean drinking water and furniture for Abbottabad schools and has also arranged workshops against corporal punishments in schools.
District Officer Education Abbottabad Ziauddin also spoke on the occasion.
