PTCL’s attitude

PTCL’s attitude

THE number 021-36671092 was never installed at my residence, but I started getting the bill for it effective July 2014. I visited the PTCL’s North Nazimabad office a number of times for rectification of this mistake. Every time I was told that from next month I would not get the bill.

I even sent an email to PTCL official Mr Mumtaz Shaikh but received no reply. I met Mr Abdul Shaffak, the then director, Mr Shakil, and other officials, but nothing was done.

On May 21, 2015, I was issued with a defaulter notice. I wrote a letter to EVP, PTCL on May 26, a copy of which was delivered to the business manager and the recovery officer. I regret that none of them have replied. However the billing was stopped from July 2015. I thought that the matter was settled.

I was surprised to receive the ‘final’ defaulter notice again dated Aug 4, dispatched on Aug 18, having due date of payment as Aug 18, what efficiency!

On receipt of this notice, I contacted the Manager Credit Management to resolve the issue. After an hour, I received a call from a Mr Shahenshah, asking me to give him two days to settle the issue.

The other day I received a call in which the official threatened to close my facilities. I then wrote to the PTCL president but received no response.

Under the circumstances, I am at a loss where do I go from here.
