Bangladesh delegation inspects stadium in KarachiArchive
KARACHI: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) security delegation on Monday inspected the facilities and safety arrangements at the Sunset Club at Defence here ahead of their women cricket team’s proposed tour to Pakistan later this month.
The four-member Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) delegation comprised BCB head of security retired Maj Hossain Imam with Lt Col Rafiqul Islam, DIG Mejbahuddin, Additional DIG Majharul Islam and Bangladesh High Commission security adviser in Islamabad Mirza Ezazur Rehman.
They inspected the ground, dressing room, dining area, gymnasium, accommodation and other arrangements at the venue, which also has boarding and lodging facilities.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) security adviser retired Col Azam and National Stadium’s senior manager Arshad Khan accompanied the delegation and briefed them on different aspects of security arrangements being made for the tour.
Later, the BCB officials got the briefing from Sindh Home Department officials including deputy secretary Hafeez Abbasi and SSP South Farooq Awan at Tughlaq House.
Earlier, on Sunday night, the BD delegation visited Seaview and some other parts of the city.
After two-day stay in the city, the delegation left for Lahore.
During their stay in Lahore, the delegation is expected to meet PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan, PCB Executive Committee chairman Najam Sethi and chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed.
If the visiting delegation cleared the tour, Bangladesh women team will play three Twenty20 Internationals and as many One-Day Internationals in Karachi and Lahore against Asian Games gold medallist Pakistan between Sept 27 to Oct 8.
