Religious sites to be made tourist friendly

LAHORE: The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) management has decided to launch various projects to promote tourism of religious sites.

The projects include a residential complex at Katas Raj Mandir in Chakwal, Gandhara University in Taxila, expansion of the Harappa Museum and construction of 200m more rooms at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore.

“These projects aim to promote tourism in Pakistan, particularly for those visiting the country on religious occasions,” ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq told reporters on Tuesday.

He said the government and the ETPB were trying to make the country a minority-loving place.
