Rival religious groups clash leaves 7 injuredArchive
RAWALPINDI: As many as seven people were injured when two rival religious groups had a free-for-all on Friday over the issue of leading the prayers.
Police said the injured were shifted to hospital for medical examination. Police will register a case and investigate the incident after receiving a report from the hospital.
The leaders of the two groups first had a heated argument which was followed a physical fight in which the enraged people used kick, punches and batons.
When contacted the SP (Sadar Circle) Ghayais Gull told Dawn that there was a dispute over leading the prayers. However, the groups did not use weapons.
