Zero plus zero is zeroArchive
SEVEN political parties have made an alliance to contest the local government election against the PML-N. This refers to your report on the front page (July 7). And they would make or agree on seats adjustment.
Zero plus zero remains zero even if multiplied or added a million times. As such the common man will continue to suffer. Such alliances will not solve the problems unless parties within themselves rectify the defects and cracks they have with their ranks and in their format of governance.
Imagine Manzur Wattoo and Chaudhry Sarwar as part of this alliance. They are known for their total ignorance of the people’s problems. I do not argue that the LG elections should be postponed or is the need but more important is the need to reorganize and restructure parties.
Names like Wattoos, Manekas, Chaudhrys, Maliks and Mazaris and Legharis do not now carry any weight. We are sick of these names as much as of their faces.
Let there be new faces and properly trained people who should make the country work under the LG system. Let these LG-elect individuals be told that corruption and even inefficiency and indolence will be severely dealt with. The punishment could be as severe as being sent to the high seas in a rickety boat with limited ration.
