Lawrence College celebrates 155th founding dayArchive
MURREE: Lawrence College Ghora Gali held an event to mark its 155th founding day on Saturday.
General Officer Commanding (GOC), Murree, Major General Mohammad Kaleem Asif was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing to the participants of the ceremony, the GOC said education was key to progress and development of a nation and could ensure a respectable place for Pakistan among the comity of the nations.
He said besides joining the armed forces, the Gallians (referred to the former students of Lawrence College) played a considerable role in the progress and development of the country.
He said Lawrence College being a prime historical educational institution of the country was an asset for the country.
Principal of the college retired Brig Mujahid Alam while presenting the annual progress report of the college highlighted the academic successes of the students.
Former federal minister Fareedullah Jan Afridi, former principal of the college Saeed Ahemad, and a large number of old Gallians, parents of the students participated in the function.
Army men injured in various operations against terrorists also participated in the function on special invitation.
Students of the college presented colorful events which were appreciated by the audience.
At the end chief guests gave away awards to the students who showed distinction in curriculum and co-curriculum activities.
