FAISALABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday convicted a man of acid attack in Rajoa (Chiniot) police precincts.
According to the prosecution, Abida Bibi of Chak 147-JB was on her way to market on Nov 19 last year when Saifullah overpowered her, carried her to a nearby house where he threw acid on her.
After trial, ATC Judge Raja Parvaiz Akhtar awarded 28-year imprisonment to Saifullah under sections 336-b of PPC and 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA). The convict was also ordered to pay Rs2 million as fine or else he would have to undergo additional four-year imprisonment.
