Rest house upgraded to circuit houseArchive
GUJRAT: The district council rest house has been upgraded to the level of a circuit house and additional bedrooms and other infrastructure will now be built there for temporary stay of government officers and other functionaries.
The rest house was established by the Gujrat district council around four decades ago and was under its control since then.
However, following upgrade, the rest house has been put under the control of district administration headed by district coordination officer.
According to a senior official of the district council, the DCO had sought upgrade from the provincial government that issued a notification in this regard.
The circuit house had been renovated with necessary repair work, fresh paint and the boundary wall, besides pathways and green lawns.
The facility, which currently has eight bedrooms and a small meeting room will now have six more bedrooms.
A bigger meeting room will also be built, besides recruitment of 12 staff members for the circuit house.
The provincial government will now allocate funds in its annual budget for the purpose.
