Kya Dilli Kya Lahore Fest concludes with a night of glamour and glitzArchive
LAHORE: It was a night of glamour and glitz at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club on Tuesday where fashion gurus from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh dazzled the ramp with some of their classic collections featuring modern, traditional and contemporary outfits both for men and women.
The concluding night of three-day Shaan-i-Pakistan -- Kiya Dilli Kiya Lahore -- festival left some deep prints of chic collections on the minds of local fashion fanciers.
As the models left the trail blazing with some fiery catwalks, the most distinguished moments were those when yore years Indian silver screen heartthrob Zeenat Aman walked the ramp as the showstopper with the fashion designer Humma Nassr, also the host and moving spirit behind the three-day extravaganza.
The night featured a celebratory fashion showcase of 18 designers from across the fashion tiers of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, including Ahmed Bilal, Aisha Imran, Barae Khanom, Bibi Russell, Braahtii by Huma Nassr, Cara Collection, Jyoti SachdevIyer, Rung Ja, Salman Haye, Waseem Noor, Republic Women’s Wear, Hammadur Rehman, Studio by AV, Style D’Elegance, Elisha Wadhwani, FIA, Zubia Motiwala and Asifa and Nabeel.
Zeenat Aman graced the ramp as a showstopper for Braahtii by Huma Nassr, Pakistani film actress Resham walked the ramp for Ahmed Bilal and TV actress Fiza Ali opened the show for Waseem Noor with her debut song at the fashion showcase.
With the success of its first edition in New Delhi in September 2015, the festival returned with more exhibitors and partners, this time in Lahore from 20th to 22nd March.
Presented by LUX; Shaan-e-Pakistan’s second installment kicked off with a memorable musical night comprising Indian and Pakistani artists -- Sounds of Kolachi, Coke Studio sensations Mai Dhai and Asrar, Indian band Shivam and one of Bollywood’s most accomplished singers, Rekha Bhardwaj. The musical evening Ek Shaam Dosti Kay Naam was followed by a full-day fashion and lifestyle exhibition by more than 30 retailers/craftsmen from both India and Pakistan. The event eventually concluded with a fashion show on the third day showcasing a mix of 18 designers from both countries.
‘Eik Shaam Dosti Kay Naam’ was hosted by VJ Andy from India and Anoushey Ashraf from Pakistan. The evening was also attended by legendary Bollywood icon Zeenat Aman, Pakistani music sensations Atif Aslam, Ali Sethi, Fariha Pervaiz, Hadiqa Kiani, Nauman Javed, Mustafa Zahid, Shiraz Uppal, Amanat Ali, Nabeel Shaukat Ali, Junaid Khan and producer Saad Sultan.
The festival also featured a full-day exhibition on the second day of more than 30 retailers/craftsman from India and Pakistan, including Amina Sultan, Anand Khanna, BeechTree, Chapter 13, Elisha Wadhwani, Healiv, Jooti Shooti, Lace Up, Lucknow Sey, Milli Shoes, Mina Siddique, Nine Lines, Prisms and Paintbrushes, Sonia Ahuja, Sonrissa, Stratford Street, Susheel Jewellers, Womaniya Collection.
Shaan-i-Pakistan serves as a platform for Indian and Pakistani fashion and lifestyle talent to showcase their craft as a means to create further awareness of the cultural prowess of the Subcontinent and to strengthen the bond between the two countries.
