Drizzle makes city weather pleasantArchive
KARACHI: The Karachiites had a pleasant day on the fourth consecutive day on Sunday with cloudy sky and intermittent drizzle in different parts of the city with the maximum temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius, said a meteorological department official and added that similar weather conditions might persist on Monday.
Responding to Dawn queries, the met official said that traces of rain had been reported at different times, including the morning, afternoon and evening at different parts of the metropolis, including the airport, Sharea Faisal, nursery, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, M. A. Jinnah Road, Urdu Bazaar, Saddar, Sarwar Shaheed Road, Liaquatabad, etc.
He said the minimum temperature recorded in the metropolis on Sunday was 28 degrees Celsius and humidity was 79 per cent.
The weather on Monday was expected to be partly cloudy / cloudy with chances of light rain / drizzle and the maximum temperature was expected to remain between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, he added.
The official said that while the weather in many towns of the province remained hot / very hot and dry, a few places did get some rains.
Nawabshah received four millimetres, Jacobabad three millimetres, Rohri two millimetres and Thatta one millimetre of rain.
He said the maximum temperature recorded in some of the towns in the province on Sunday was: Sukkur, Larkana, Padidan, Jacobabad and Rohri (40 degrees Celsius); Dadu (39.4 degrees); Moenjodaro (39); Nawabshah (38.5); Chhor, (37.5); Hyderababad (37); Mithi (36.5); and Thatta (32.5).
