‘National Beach Games to prepare athletes for Asian event’Archive
LAHORE: The first National Beach Games will be held in Karachi in early September which will help the Pakistani athletes to prepare well for the 5th Asian Beach Games to be staged in Danang, Vietnam from Sept 24.
This was announced by president of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), retired Lt Gen Syed Arif Hasan here on Monday.
“The first National Beach Games in Karachi would contribute greatly towards enhancing the capacity of our athletes and prepare them well for the Asian Games in Vietnam where sports persons from 45 countries would be competing in 21 different disciplines,” said Arif while talking to the president of the Sindh Olympic Association retired Brig Rasheed Malik.
POA secretary general Khalid Mahmood, SOA vice-chairman Asif Azeem and other SOA officials were also present on the occasion.
