Shabbir, Munir share lead in CAS Golf

KARACHI: Country’s top two golfers, defending champion Mohammad Shabbir and Mohammad Munir, both of the Islamabad Golf Club, shot two under par 70 to share the lead on the opening day of the 36th Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Open Golf Championship which teed off at the Airmen Golf Course, PAF Base Korangi Creek, on Wednesday.

Around 350 golfers, including 76 pros from all over the country, are taking part in different categories of the four-day event which carries a rich prize money of Rs 4 million.

In addition to the prize money, two zero metres cars – Toyotta Corolla and Suzuki Swift – are also at offer for Hole-in-One.

Besides the pros, competitions in senior pros, amateurs, Airmen Golf Club members, ladies, veterans and invitees will be organised.

Air Commodore Ibrahim Asad, Base Commander PAF Base Korangi Creek, inaugurated the event.
