City School netball teams impressed in Melbourne: Mudassar Arain

KARACHI: The City School’s girls netball teams returned from Australia after putting up a satisfactory performance in the Weberley International Girls Netball Championship held in Melbourne.

According to president of the Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) Mudassar Arain, who also accompanied the teams, the City School teams comprising twenty U-15 girls competed in the event which was contested by as many as twenty-five teams from around the world including those from hosts Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and many other.

Mudassar added that the school girls from Pakistan put up a disciplined, spirited show in most of their matches and the exposure and experience will be invaluable for them in the years to come when they will represent the country in future at the international competitions.

“The City School teams played well in most of their matches and earned praise from the officials at Melbourne besides being whole-heartedly supported by many Pakistani families at the ground there,” said the PNF chief.

“We have found many fine players from the tour and they will join the ongoing netball camp at the PSB coaching centre soon,” he added.
