Inter commerce part-II (private) and home economics part-I results out

KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) announced the results of commerce part-II (private) and home economics part-I on Tuesday.

Hira Ziauddin stood first with Grade A and 858 marks out of total 1,100 to pass with a percentage of 78. Aqsa Yousuf was second with 850 marks and a percentage of 77.27. Fatima Mirza stood third with 840 marks and a percentage of 76.36.

Announcing the results BIEK Chairman Prof Inam Ahmed said that some 7,397 candidates registered for the examination and 7,209 of them actually appeared for it.

Only 2,767 candidates passed bringing up a 38.38 passing average. “None of the candidates who passed were able to bag Grade A-1, though 23 passed with and Grade A,” said the chairman.




Meanwhile, 237 got Grade B, 975 C and 1,376 D.

In the home economics part-I exam, 292 candidates were registered and 283 of them appeared; 153 passed showing 54.06 pass percentage.

Prof Ahmed said that checking the papers and tabulating the results with honesty may take time, but it went a long way in building a strong society as it helped shape personalities of youth.
