Thousands take entry test for admission on SU campusesArchive
HYDERABAD: A total of 21,075 candidates appeared in pre-entry test for admission to bachelor’s degree programme in various disciplines at the University of Sindh main campus in Jamshoro and other campuses in Badin, Mirpurkhas, Dadu, Thatta and Larkana on Sunday.
According to the breakup, 19,789 candidates, including 15,368 boys and 4,421 girls, sat the test at the main campus, 249 in Laar campus in Badin, 465 in Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto campus in Dadu, 109 in Thatta, 298 in Mirpurkhas and 165 appeared in the test in the university’s Larkana campus.
The Sindh University Testing Centre conducted the test in all the campuses and a vigilance committee comprising deans, members of SU syndicate and officers concerned visited the designated test centres to review arrangements and the conduct of the test.
SU vice chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Mohammad Burfat welcomed all candidates and their parents to the university and said that SU was one of the finest, largest, oldest and most trusted universities in Pakistan.
“It has around 250 foreign educated PhD faculty, more than 60 teachers who have done Ph.D in Pakistan, more than 150 M.Phil teachers and another 100 or so teachers are about to complete their Ph.D studies in and outside the country,” he said.
Later, Dr Burfat visited the test centers along with officers concerned and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
DADU: More than 400 candidates vied with each other for 180 seats in the pre-entry test for admission to BS Information Technology, BS English and Bachelor’s of Business Administration in SU Dadu campus, according to pro vice chancellor Prof Dr Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed.
