No fare for special persons on buses in Toba Tek SinghArchive
TOBA TEK SINGH: A joint meeting of transporters and the district administration decided here on Sunday to let all special persons travel within the district without paying the fare, while they will have to pay half the fare when they travel to other cities.
The meeting held on International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Sunday was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon. It decided that after registration of the special persons, transporters will issue travel cards to them.
Separately, at a seminar held under the auspices of social welfare department at Jinnah hall of the municipal committee, with the deputy commissioner as the chief guest as chairman of the board of governors of Divisional Public School, it was announced that special children will be provided free education at the school.
The DC also stated that the district administration would arrange for more jobs for special persons in the private sector and skillful training courses will be started for them. All vacant seats reserved for special persons would soon be filled, he claimed.
ACCIDENT: Four people were injured when three cars and a motorcycle-rickshaw collided in Gojra on Sunday.
Police said a car driven by Asif Nadeem collided with another car driven by Muhammad Atif near Chak 372-JB on Gojra-Toba road.
A few seconds later, a car driven by Khan Muhammad and a motorcycle-rickshaw driven by Muhammad Aslam smashed into the two cars. All four drivers were wounded and admitted to the Gojra THQ hospital.
