‘Decision to send Aussie team to Pakistan rests with CA’Archive
LAHORE: Australian High Commissioner Margaret Adamson, while expressing support for the resumption of international cricket in Pakistan, said the decision to send the Australian cricket team to Pakistan is to be taken by Cricket Australia.
Talking to reporters at the Kinnaird College here while watching a women’s cricket match, Adamson said she was representing the people of Australia in Pakistan and wants to see the resumption of international cricket here. “But the decision regarding Australian team’s tour here will have to be taken by Cricket Australia and not me,” she said.
However, she was hopeful that Cricket Australia must be monitoring the ongoing matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) being played in Karachiand added that it was a good sign that prominent Australian cricketer Shane Watson was also part of the PSL matches in Karachi for the first time. Watson is the the leading scorer in PSL-4 while representing Quetta Gladiators.
Adamson disclosed that she had watched the PSL final last year in Karachi.
