Public service delivery portal on cards, says CM

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Saturday said the good governance strategy (GGS) would make the government more responsive, transparent and accountable.

Chairing a meeting on GSS, the chief minister said the latest statistics had revealed that KP had the highest citizen satisfaction of 42pc in the country throughout Pakistan under the Citizen Portal.

He said public service delivery portal would be launched soon. A statement issued here said officials informed the meeting about the government’s initiatives under GGS and said five different pillars had been devised under it including open government and transparency, public service delivery, citizen participation, performance and accountability and ideas innovation and technology.

They said several e-governance reforms had been introduced and online portals had been designed to review the public service delivery.

The officials said since 2018, 900 khuli kutcheris were held in the province leading to the resolution of over 8,000 people’s complaints.

They said work on the online approval of building plans both commercial and residential was in progress to facilitate private builders in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The officials said a mechanism had been introduced for administrative inspection of public service facilities and developmental schemes under which all details and latest situation was available on dashboards for the chief minister and other officials.

They also said through the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, the people’s response reached the chief minister and ministers.

The officials said it was a unique initiative of the government to address people’s complaints within a month’s time.

They said besides e-bidding, e-tendering and e-billing, e-transfer policies had also been introduced in various departments.

The officials said a digital mechanism for price control had been put in place, while details were available on dashboards on a daily basis.

They also said targeted actions were being carried out to check artificial price hike in the province.

The officials said a consultation process for merged tribal areas had been inaugurated by the chief minister, while a task force had been constituted to review progress and take people’s feedback in the newly-merged tribal district.
