Ayyan Ali’s apartment attached over non-payment of income taxPakistan
ISLAMABAD: The Income Tax Department has attached a flat of model Ayyan Ali in Karachi for non-payment of Rs15.321 million as income tax.
“The Regional Tax Office, Karachi, has attached the apartment to restrain the model from selling it,” a tax official told Dawn.
A demand of Rs18.857m income tax has been raised on the basis of assets the model has possessed. The main source of income tax demand is $506,000, the amount Ayyan Ali was allegedly trying to smuggle abroad.
“We have received Rs3.536m income tax from the model so far,” the official said.
The flat, located at Creek Vista apartment in the Defence Housing Authority, Karachi, had been attached after Ms Ali failed to deposit the remaining amount of income tax, he added.
According to the official, the RTO, Karachi had earlier attached a bank account of the model.
Ms Ali had established a company in Dubai’s Free Trade Zone of Jebel Ali to get visas for her relatives, he added.
