Shaheen Air crash: Police submits challan against pilot to ATCPakistan
LAHORE: Sarwar Road police on Saturday submitted challan to an anti-terrorism court against the pilot of Shaheen Airline facing charges of crash landing under the influence of liquor.
The investigating officer accompanied by a deputy prosecutor general submitted a copy of the challan to the presiding judge.
Police declared pilot Asmat Mahmood guilty of putting the lives of passengers at risk by crash landing the plane while being drunk.
The judge pointed out some shortcomings in the challan and directed the prosecution to resubmit a complete challan.
He also extended judicial remand of the pilot till Dec 30. Asmat Mahmood had crash landed a plane at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Nov 3 under the influence, and Sarwar Road police had arrested him from his Karachi residence.
