Lasting peace in Balochistan on agenda, says ministerPakistan
QUETTA: Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has said that Operation Zarb-i-Azb is bearing fruit as law and order has improved a lot and Balochistan will soon be a completely peaceful province.
He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with Youm-i-Shuhada here on Friday. The ceremony was attended by Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Aamir Riaz, Adviser to Chief Minister on Information Sardar Raza Muhammad Baraich, Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani, Frontier Corps Balochistan IG Maj Gen Sher Afgun, IGP Ahsan Mehboob and other senior officials.
“The government and security forces have been taking practical steps to permanently root out terrorism from the province,” he said, adding that the sacrifices of martyrs would not go to waste.
He said the law and order situation had improved substantially in the province. “Pakistan was formed to live forever. The nefarious designs of its enemies will be foiled,” he said.
The minister said that the government was paying special attention to solving the problems of the heirs of martyrs.
