Four pro-govt volunteers killed in clashPakistan
LANDI KOTAL: At least four men were killed in a shootout between two factions of a pro-government armed group in Bazaar Zakhakhel area of Landi Kotal late on Saturday evening.
According to Khasadar officials, supporters of rival factions within the Tauheedul Islam group opened fire at each other after an exchange of hot words over a petty issue.
The firing left dead Shafeeq, Khiyali Khan, Nek Wali and Fazle Haq.
Leaders of the group said they were investigating the incident.
Power outage: Power supply to most parts of Landi Kotal has been suspended since Saturday morning due to a technical fault in a grid station caused by overloading.
Officials said it would take at least four days to restore supply to Zakhakhel, Shinwari and Shalman localities along with the Agency Headquarters Hospital.
In Jamrud, residents held a protest demonstration at the Bab-i-Khyber against excessive and unscheduled loadshedding.
The demonstration disrupted traffic on the Peshawar-Torkham highway for nearly an hour.
Excessive loadshedding in Jamrud and the fault in the Landi Kotal grid station have also caused an acute shortage of water in both tehsils.
