MNA’s apartment at Parliament Lodges broken intoPakistan
ISLAMABAD: The apartment of an MNA in the heavily guarded Parliament Lodges was broken into with the burglars making off with cash and valuables, the police said.
The incident was reported when PML-N MNA Mohammad Talal Chaudhry’s cousins and personal assistant came over to his apartment number 302 and found the door locked from inside.
The personal assistant then managed to open the door at the back and let the rest of the party in via the front door.
The locks on the cupboards were found to be broken and the MNA was informed about the incident, the police said.
Mr Chaudhry then gave his cousins details of the valuables and cash in the apartment to ascertain what was stolen.
Duty Officer ASI Farrukh Habib told Dawn that MNA Chuadhry was visiting his native town since the last few days and that burglars had made off with US$3,000, gold ornaments and watches from his apartment.
A police official said the burglars seem to have come in via the back door though the door was not broken.
The official said the Secretariat Security Guards of the Security Wing is responsible for security in Parliament Lodges though, he said, they are just for show as the guards are not allowed to check those who come to visit legislators.
