‘Malaysia for more halal business with Pakistan’Pakistan
LAHORE: Malaysia wants to increase the volume of halal business with Pakistan with the help of local business community, said senior Malaysian educationist Dr Syed Jalaludin bin Syed Salim on Friday.
He was addressing the ‘Halal Business Projection’ seminar organised by the Punjab Halal Development Agency (PHDA).
“We have come to Pakistan to survey local market for further investment in production and services,” Mr Salim said.
PHDA Chairman Justice (retired) Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan said Punjab would fully support the Malaysian business community in all respects as the province is able to provide halal compliant products.
Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister, Chauhdry Arshad Jutt, University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences (UVAS) Vice-Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Nasim Sadiq and others spoke at the event.
The Malaysian delegation, comprising 25 businessmen, participated in the conference along with Pakistani traders.
The Malaysian delegation will stay in Pakistan for a couple of days to study the market and its requirements for import and export and to set up new industries in Pakistan.
